Dexter is a machine. Dex is one of the best truffle dogs in North America and only continues to amaze us with his abilities. He found some of the first wild truffles in BC in recorded history!
There is no white truffle Dexter cannot find. He is much loved all over the PNW, but especially in his native British Columbia.
Dexter is currently trained for native stands and plantations on Leucangium carthusianum , T. oregonense, T. gibbosum and training on T. melanosporum, T. lyonii, T. aestivum, and T. borchii.
DUFF
Breed: Retriever Mix

Handler: Alana
Duff is our poster boy truffle hunter.
Equal parts focus and sweetness, he will work for hours weaving in and out of trees searching for the elusive scent.
Duff works wild stands and plantations, and is a proficient hunter. He is trained on Leucangium carthusianum, T. oregonense, T. gibbosum, and T. melanosporum.
He is being trained this year as well on T. borchii, T. lyonii, and T. aestivum

This little girl is a natural. She lives to work. Smart as a whip and sweet as sugar. She is a master at a young age at finding Oregon Black truffles.

“Augie”

Lolo’s litter-mate, Augustus has the same amazing drive and determination that is going to make him an outstanding truffle dog. He has had some great success in the field this year and will only continue to improve.
Augustus is currently trained for native stands on Leucangium carthusianum and T. oregonense, and is training on T. melanosporum.
DELLA
Breed: Australian Shepherd/ German Shepherd Mix

Those piercing sweet eyes say it all: Della is a love bug and is learning from the best. She had some of her first finds this season, and we predict she will give her furry friends a run for their money in the future.
Della is currently trained for native stands on Leucangium carthusianum and T. oregonense. We have high hopes for this gal!

Rescued literally in his 11th hour, Ryu has what it takes to make an excellent truffle dog- and beat out several other rescue dogs for the chance to become a truffle hunter full-time. He is super focused, and has a sweet disposition despite his difficult start in life.
His training is progressing nicely but due to a severe injury he will not be ready for Fall/Winter 2012 harvest

Jean Luc shows amazing promise, and is learning to love being out in the field. We expect great things from this very sensitive and loving boy.
